BUCHANAN (Bonheur/Hampton/Dauphin)

Well, June and most of July flew by!  Having a couple of days between foalings to catch up on sleep was most helpful. We are so pleased with these youngsters.  Both foals have great movement, correct confirmation and engaging personalities.  We are currently in the process of rebreeding and have the privilege of living  near the wonderful stallion, Dauphin, who stands at Aileron Stables.  We are planning to breed our three mares, Lily, Belle and Safira  to him and will confirm once all the ultrasounding is finished.  The days are busy working with the yearlings and the new arrivals.   Had the new foals to the beach and watching them for the first time there is always fun.  Editing those videos now…stay tuned!

Buchanan at 3 days old!  We are very pleased with this fine young colt. Even at this young age, he is showing the great movement of his sire and dam!  He also has an engaging personality 🙂

Pastures are starting to green up.  We have had lots of moisture, and the spring fertilizer has been applied so now just waiting for the sun to do its job  🙂

Purchased a new trailer that is much smaller than the previous one.  It is easy to maneuver and will provide a comfortable space for mare and foal when travelling to  the Inspections.

Still shedding out the yearlings.  They will seem so large once the new foals are born!  The broodmares are getting closer to their due date.  The camera is set up in the foaling stall and foaling kit is ready.

Planning on taking Safira to a one day schooling show this month just to hang out in that environment and get more experience travelling on the trailer.

SAFIRA (Schwarzenegger/World Cup IV/Matcho AA)

It is finally looking like spring on PEI (despite the odd bit of ice in the water!).

On the left, is Belle, carrying a Bonheur/Beau Soleil/Warkanson foal due June 14/17.

On the right, is Lily carrying a Bonheur/Hampton/Dauphin foal due June 15/17.

We are happy to report that both of our mares are expecting in June of this year.  Both Belle and Lily were bred to the Hanoverian stallion Bonheur.

We are eagerly awaiting a repeat of the success we had with his and Belle’s offspring in 2016 and are anxious to see the result of his pairing with Highland Lily.
