Due mid-May, 2023!
This is our first foal expected this spring. We have wanted to breed to De Niro (Donnerhall/Akzent II/Wisenbaum xx) for some time now. He is an exceptional stallion with excellent rideability and talent for collection. Combined with Florencia’s (Florencio/ Weltmeyer/Wenzel I) talent, bloodlines and athleticism, we have no doubt this will be an outstanding filly or colt!
FLORENCIA
Florencia’s sire: “Florencio passed his 30 day test at Zweibrücken in 2002, with a score of 10 for walk! Ridden by Simon Dropp, he was the Reserve Champion of the Four Year old stallions at the 2003 Bundeschampionate. With Hans Peter Minderhoud in the saddle, he won Holland’s prestigious young horse class, the Pavo Cup for five year olds, and then went to Verden for the World Championships, where he again won the five year old division, with scores of 9.8 for walk, 9.7 for trot, and 10 for canter.” (Excerpt from The Horse Magazine) Florencio was sired by the outstanding stallion Florestan.
Florencia’s dam, Walencia, was a daughter of the legendary Weltmeyer who was the 1986 winner of the stallion licensing in Verden, and the 1987 winner of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf. In the same year Weltmeyer also won the three-year-old stallions classification at the Federal Championships of German Riding Horses in Warendorf.
DE NIRO
In 1997, De Niro was vice champion of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf with a score of 141.93 points and champion for rideability with a score of 145.41 points. He successfully competed at the Grand Prix-level. He has over 100 licensed stallions and many successful offspring. In 2008, at the age of 15, De Niro was honoured with the highest stallion award the Hannoveraner Verband has to give – the title “Hanoverian Stallion of the Year”. In 2017, for the fifth time, he was awarded Best Dressage Stallion of the World. De Niro passed on to his progeny all qualities required in modern dressage sport.
De Niro was sired by Donnerhall, a dressage stallion, known not only for having a successful career as a sport horse, but also for passing on his abilities to his offspring causing him to. become an influential sire.
De Niro’s dam is Alicante. She was successful in dressage up to Intermediaire level and her sire, Akzent II, was regarded as one of the best producers for rideability in modern day horse breeding.
